  • The Alamo 300 Alamo Plaza San Antonio, TX, 78205 United States (map)

In honor of Preservation Month, see the Alamo as you’ve never seen it before!

During this multi-layer after hour tour, visitors will learn about the history, archaeology, and preservation, of the Alamo and how those three disciplines come together to tell a more detailed story of the site.
The tour will begin with a brief overview of the history of the site and battle of the Alamo. Next, Alamo Archaeologist Kristi Nichols will discuss past archaeological excavations, show off their finds, and share plans for future work. Lastly, Alamo Conservator Pam Jary Rosser will describe her 16 years of work preserving the Alamo and reveal the discoveries made during her time. Visitors will learn the role these professionals play in preserving history, how the past is revealed daily at the Alamo, and why #thisplacematters.

This tour is $40.00 per person and lasts an hour and a half. Children 5 and under are free and you do not need to purchase a ticket for them.

Tours are hosted May 9, May 16, and May 23 in the evenings. Tours will start at 6 pm, 6:30 pm, and 7 pm, each night.
